This is my last day in Seattle. Tommorrow, I'm leaving to Chicago.

Kl bisa, pengen stay here forever :P hehaheha :) Though I know that's just a dream. And though I know that the moving days and time means I'm closer to Chicago & Vegas (and going back to SG too), I still hope time moves slower here.

Even though, time already has move sssooo slow in here.
Beneran berasanya selalu kaya: ha ? baru jam segini, perasaan udah lama kita di luar, udah lama kita kesana sini sono sene sunu. Slow gitu dah....

But the slow motion of time means full satisfaction and enjoyment here. Generally, time does move slower in States overall.

Well now, Seattle. States ppl are generally louder, friendlier than Singaporean (as I said: mostly, don get offended as u noe this is true. I'm half singaporean myself having lived there for 9 years). I can feel that when I go to LA. But to my surprise, Seattle ppl are even more friendlier than LA ppl. Wow !!

U juz feel it everywhere. Even my cousin says, at Pike Place: Strangers talk to Strangers. Indeed. U now American are generally louder than any average person in the world ? When they talk, they just don care whether u are listening to their conversation. Unlike me, I'm a ghost whisperer my friend called. I speak in such small desibel ppl generally can't hear me.

And then, the thing about Seattle is: it's very very Romantic. Somehow I can imagine Dasu with Vina here. HAHA :P *sorry, only this Dasu man come to mind everytime I want to remember MUSHY, and to give him some credit : romantic*

Generally, the feel, the weather, the greeneries, the atmosphere. It's like there's music playin on your ear everytime u walk around.

I went to Space Needle yesterday. If you watch Love happen, basically Aaron Eckhart was standing there, when he was looking over his house in Seattle. It's that tower that is standing @ 300 feet tall. When me and my cousin walked there, u seem like u don't see ppl. It's like so quiet and less crowd (or no crowd at all). But when we enter the tower, suddenly u see ppl, alot.

When u reach the roof, again it's like quiet. But wait for awhile, and then again : people :P Wonder where do they come from. When I left the building, it's quite one more time.

Our agenda yesterday is generally Photo taking. I went to the place suggested by Lie Mei, UW :) She told me I have to go there as it looks like Harry Potter's school. And indeed it is. Oh my goodness. If I can study there, I think I'll continue studying over and over there :P

I went to the library and basically, u can just make Harry Potter Gala dinner scene there. It's like Cathedral itselves. And I have never seen a fountain as wide as bunderan HI in a school. If you have such fountain in ur school, dont u feel like pickniking there ?

huah ..... ! Shopping too. On Saturday I want to Outlet in Seattle (Tulalip area). No wonder ppl go crazy over there. I think I went crazy myself. The tax is lower than LA actually. And I have bought like ...a ... lot...*censored* But I still want to go back to another outlet on my way to Vegas as the prices are a lil bit impossible for our eyes to believe. HUAAAA :P I hope I don burn a hole in my wallet. One shopping list added : new luggage.

I learn new fact about Seattle recently, that Starbucks is first opened and originated here. I took a picture at the first starbucks stall ever built. It's still the most traditional, and they have street performer singing in front of the stall. When u listen to African American ppl sing, u just shiver my friend :P

hu hu hu hu hu..... I fall in love to Seattle. I fall in love to States. But I think I find this country as a nice place to live as I have spending power & on my holiday mood. To live here will be another story of it's own. I might not have as much spending power as I have now. hm....the curse of greed :P I don noe if I have enough guts to live here.

We'll see. For now, I'm still enjoying the best holiday of my life.

MACY'S

Everyone who have been to states, or have relatives went to states, must have heard the legendary MACY'S.

And I spend a whole day @ downtown Seattle yesterday ( Pike's Market, Pacific Place) and the highlight one more time ladies and gentlemen, is MACY'S.

Guess what ? Let's just say that I shopped, and the receipt shows me how much that I save from shopping yesterday, and the savings cost like 2.3 from my shopping expenses, HOW COOL IS THAT ? So I'm actually paying a third of my actual cost.

U see, the price tag in Macy's doesnt always show u the real price. As said in my earlier blog, when u scan them @ the scanning machine everywhere around the shop, u will find some more Fabulous price.

So yesterday, I bring in like 15 top maybe, try them on, do some selection, and settle with 5 piece, scan each of them and I got a shock for some of the prices they show.

Then, I met this salesgirl, who is Chinese Nationals who once live in Singapore, who is so friendly, and she told me to open a Macy's Account, and I got A FURTHER 20% Discount.

I am mad, and I am going shopping again today !! hahahah :P I promise to stop myself from crazy shopping spree okay ? I will, do my best effort, to stop going crazy !! (but having a supportive cousin, who don really like shopping, but she's all the way helping me to shop, might not really help. But seriously I thank her. She shopped herself too :) ahhah :)

Oh off course I got some other comment. Americans service are seriously, cool. They are professional in doing service business. I'm shopping in what the likes of Robinson/ Tangs, and each of the salesgirl are like introducing themselves, Hi my name is who and who, if u need any help, pls just look for me. I'll be back to check on u later.

And they really do. Oh my, I got some serious learning on service business here. No wonder we, Singapore, kind of suck.

Oh, and I have another problem now. Ppl kept asking, where are u from ? I have to stop for a while and think. Sometimes I say Indonesia, sometimes I say Singapore, sometimes I took the pain to explain, I'm Indonesian living in Singapore and coming here for HOLIDAY.

But seriously, what should I answer next time ? Singapore, Jakarta ? Where ?

I'm in Seattle now. Dinginnya lebih parah dari LA :P wadoh :P
But then again, coz Seattle is constantly cold, I think I will be better here compared to LA yg panas dinginnya menukik nukik ga jelas

I went to Universal Studios yesterday, and manage to view WISTERIA LANE, the desperate housewives Road, from near view. Even better : they are filming. Too bad I did not see any Actresses or manage to get any good pictures as the tour bus is not stopping for long due to the filming.

It was really a fun experience being in the Studios as my filming are done there. CSI, Jay Leno, Conan O Brien, Evan almighty, Bruce Almighty, many..many...many ....more :P

What I love the most is the Special Effect where they tell you how they create and fill the special effect in Hollywood. Professional, really.

Then this morning, I head straight to Seattle with Alaska Air 453.
Just like wad my aunt told me, Seattle is cold & wet :) It has been raining a whole day and they say it will still be this way for a couple of time. And just like what she said, this city is : BEAUTIFUL :)

My cousin Miyuki fetch me. She's getting pretty & prettier and she look like some Japanese actress nowadays :) Don believe me ? Check her Facebook Account. She's my prettiest cousin, everyone agrees.

We went to eat @ Mexican restaurant just now and when we go home, there's this guy who drove exactly right behind our car just to say : Hello Ladies, you girls are beautiful.

My cousin, seemed nonchalant and just answer nicely, well thank you. *In my lil heart : dasar orang indo sejati, I was scarred. Scarred that he will do any harm. Badannya: segede Ko Omar x2. Imagine !!*

Then he asked again, Wads ur name ? My cousin quick answer : Mary :) Good choice. hahaha :) I wanted to say Jane, or Jenny, Jenna, anyone that cross my mind.

Apparrantly, this man did not stop. *if I were him I would have known that Mary is such a common name, it must have been a false name* He asked again: Do you girls have boyfriend ? And applause to my cousin for changing our status to somewhat protected: YES WE HAVE :) tadaaaa

The man: All right then, nice to meet you girls :)

My cousin commented in a car : mereka emang suka gitu. Ga malu2. Some of them really love Asian looks. But they are not dangerous. It's only small talk. Americans love that.

It's Tuesday morning, November 2nd' 09, 8.27 AM California time :)

Ga bisa tidur lagi, as the weather is cold in the morning. My aunt doesn't really want to on the heater, coz few weeks ago, it blew out fire she said :P hahahaha :)

I just got back from SAN FRANCISCO, the must-go city, recommended by EVERYONE who has been here, and I have no wonder why :)

If u remember the song: I left my heart, in San Francisco, house on hills and windy sea. The songwriter is really not joking when he/she said house on a hill. All houses @ San Francisco are on hills. It was built on slanted road. I cant imagine driving in Singapore (not just yet) more over @ San Francisco :P It's like mini Puncak :P every alley is upslope & down slope. Woooottt. If Suwarto wants to drift, he can try here:P

Anyway, the story goes like this.

Saturday Oct 31 Morning, wake up in the morning, straight away heading to where the tour group meets. We are going to SF, passing through a couple of place.

First stop : Solvang. It's knowns as the only Danish Capital in United States. The one and only. U felt like u are in sweden when u go there.

We go to eat the pastry here @ Solvang Bakery. One bread lasted me the whole day, as it was so big and filling. Didn’t take any more lunches thereafter. We also ate Pouverches (Atuh gimana tulisnya teh, kagak tau) U noe the famous food u eat @ Bandung’s café ? Turns out that the real Pouverches is not as nice as Bandung’s one :P Hah !!

Well nothing much about here in Solvang if you don like the kind of Europian village feeling. For me, I like !! So I’m happy enough being in a place that feels like birth land of IKEA J hahaha

Then from Solvang, we continue our journey to Hearst Castle. This is a Castle built by a gentleman called William Hearst. He’s richest man in America before 1930. He built the castle to commemorate his mother. He loved his mom, and I love his Castle J haha :P

During our journey from Solvang to Hearst Castle, we took highway 101. This is the highway that bring us to see the HOLLYWOOD sign, and the highway to Hollywood walk of fame, Universal Studios, etc. I’m going there tomorrow. Highway 101 is met by highway 1. Highway 1, is located exactly next to the Pacific Ocean Coast line, so while I was sleeping from Solvang to Hearst Castle (probably coz of jet lag), everytime I opened my eyes I was welcome by Breathtaking view. I saw the Ocean on my left side, and rock mountain in front of me. Just like in the movie. No wonder they love movie there.

From Hearst castle we went for dinner @ this Chinese restaurant. USD 13 per person. This can be considered cheap they say. As I only eat bread in the morning, I ate much more during dinner. From there, we straight away head to our Hotel: Crowne Plaza @ San Jose to rest.

Second day : November 1st’ 09
It’s daylight saving time. So we adjust our watch to 1 hour back. Wake up at 6.15 AM local time. Gather at 7 AM. It’s the day I’ve been waiting for, we tour around San Francisco today J hohoho

The bus straight away head to China town in SF for breakfast. As we enter SF, this is where I saw lots of house on a hills, and Foggy Sea. Wooh, the houses !! on hills J So nice. Too bad I was too sleepy to take pictures. Hahaha


After breakfast, they take us to walk around the city. First stop: Palais of fine arts, followed by GOLDEN GATE hohohoh :)

Then, the tour group bring us to experience the upriding hills in SF. My Aunt feet hurts so much coz of that. The uphill, is totally steep. We head towards the Lombard street. The most crooked street in the world (so they say)

From Lombart street we head to: FISHERMAN WHARF, Pier 39. No one ever mention bout pier 39 to me but I guess it’s so famous that I felt like Dejavu when I saw them. We ate : the most delicious Clam chowder I’ve ever tasted.

After lunch we join the extended tour of the City. First stop : Church of St Mary. Next stop is the view from the highest pt of San Francisco : the Twin Peak.

And then we move to City Hall. This is the City hall where the Harvey Mik, (the movie played by Sean Penn) gather all the gay ppl and march out. It’s a beautiful city hall but, my Camera Battery run flat there :P…OH NO !!

Lesson for me: never ever leave my extra battery and the charger behind. So these are my last attempt in taking the pics, powered by Miracle from Him that allow me to take the last couple of Pics. Oh my, should I have more battery, let me tell you, my memory card will run out too I suppose :P

So the day is over and we head back to Hotel early. My battery is flat anyway and I have no more mood to take any more pictures. Actually, I lost the mood coz I wouldn’t be able to take the picture for the next day, which according to my auntie, ga ada apa apanya :P Yosemite waterfall.

But seberapa ga ada apa apanya, waterfall is still waterfall. And the fact that even the tour was ended early so that we can get up at 4 AM the next day to go up the waterfall at 5 AM in the morning, I bet there’s got to be something wonderfull there.

So gua pasrah:P I hope I wont regret it so much that I miss bringing the extra battery and I hope I will do what is enough there to enjoy the nature.

But it turns out, I still regret not having enough battery to take picture. This is one last picture that my camera can take, after being untouched the whole night.
One last one. Yosemite waterfall.

If you can see, there’s a rainbow at the end of the waterfall. It was so beautiful. The road heading towards Yosemite itself was sssoooo beautiful. Breathtaking. I can literally say that I lost my breath (coz next to the bus is cliff anyway, that’s why is breathtaking…haha)

I thought this will be the end. I hope not to see anymore beautiful place lest I regret more. There are a lot of scenic place in here itself that I can only record with my memory.

But again, the tour brought us to even a more beautiful scene. I saw pine trees all over hill, green tall pine trees everywhere.

At this last bit, I really cant take it anymore. I gather all my courage to ask our tour mate to lend her camera, I put in my memory card inside her cam, and take picture with it.

Friend, as it was said by the tour guide herself (Sabrina Chien, who look like Nicole Kidman btw), this is the place where they make a lot of movies, and I believe the picture on Ricola’s cover was taken here. Here it is, my most breathtaking pictures

So, that’s the end of my tour. I thank God I manage to secure the last 2 pictures and I kept the rest of the wonderful memory in my heart, sealed with a prayer : I’LL BE BACK TO TAKE WEDDING PICTURE IN SAN FRANCISCO & YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK. * Ngimpi boleh dong ?*

We head home, reach LA at 7 PM, then we go to a Mall. I did feel tired but the day seems so young and longer here in States than in Singapore. I think Singapore and Japan are the fastest city on earth :P

At the Mall, (Westfield mall) I manage to shop for dress & skirt @ Macy’s. The price tag after a massive discount reads : 17 & 14 dollar. When you scan the item, it was like 12 & 8 dollar. Oh my gosh. I have to control myself !!

So, now is 12.36 PM (see how long I spend to update this blog), and I’m going to Hollywood later J and, Universal studios tmrw. I have not met anymore good looking ppl, so keep wishing me luck J

Okie, not that smooth actually !

So here's the complete story:
Berangkatlah daku di hari jumat pagi, Oct 30 jam 9.45 singapore local time with SQ12.

I sit at the last row, the 4 person middle seat. As I prayed that the one sitting nex to me is not someone unbearable, I got 1 "typical singapore businessman" look alike, and a couple whom I suspect are Indonesian. My guess are correct.

I don mind the couple, but Mr Businessman is not really that of a nice experience. Well, he's okay to me, but having work in a Bank for 6 years, businessman are the one that I want to avoid the most. But here he is, sitting next to me, complaining how bad it is that he got the last row, the noise we experienced for sitting so near to toilet and bla bla bla.

He kept saying : it's terrible, this is terrible. My goodness, SQ, terrible ? Try Jetstar Uncle !!

The food was AMAZING. The stewardess: so friendly, and pretty (lots of them are Japanese as we stopped by Narita). Well anyway, I pray not to sit next to businessman again :P

In the plane, as always, I did sth ridiculous, haha :P Accidentally press the emergency call button when I was in the toilet, and the stewardess was bamming the door like mad. Sorry, wrong call:P hehe * so pai seh*

cut the story short, after what seem to be never ending flight *During turbulence, it cross my mind, what if I am to meet God now ? Well, what can I do? I'm ready*, I reached : LAX.

I forgot to fill up the custom & immigration card, so when I landed I straight away look for the counter to fill it up. That's when I realize : I do not have my aunt's address :P oh no ! & without that I can't even queue in the line. I need to have that address.

Oh no! okay, i wasn't panicked, but starhub *the lousiest in singapore in terms of signal, not very much diff in states* phone doesn't show any signal. I cant sms my aunt. Tried to use the phone, asking for collect call, my aunt & uncle seems to either miss the call or do not want to receive them. I was, looking desperate & devastated, I guess :P

As the phone booth was at the end part of the building, some officers (uncles) seemed to have notice my struggle and ask me, what seems to be my problem.

I explained to them, and they are willing to help me *OH MY GOD HORAY !!* They called my aunt, en prior to that they were joking, what do you think her aunt respond would be : "Hi Ma'am, I'm calling from LAX Immigration, your niece is in custom right now, she couldn't get out! She's in trouble !ow-oh ! !?!?! " and they all laughed.

I laughed too. I find it funny, and I do wonder wad's my aunt reaction will be :P ahha :) But the best part, among the uncles, there's one very good looking officer who seem to be Asian American. He's younger than the rest off course. Lumayan : cuci mata di tengah keputus - asaan ! Off course I didn't take his pict, are u mad ?haha :P *remember, I was desperate ?!?! almost panicked for a while, kept thinking on how I can get internet connection so that I can check the address*

en so, I managed to get my aunt, got the address * I remember correctly : Fratus Drive, what unit number, which area, I have no idea*

and then....the best part. Once I got them I thot I need to queue the line that shaped like a snake like! So long! I was afraid my luggage has been dumped somewhere :P

But, the good looking officer said, come: let me help you. He went to his counter, ask me to go there, check my card & passport and VOILA! I'm ready to go. Welcome to states, all the uncle & the officer said ! THANK YOU ! *uwah... masih tersepona: cakep officernya hohooo*

So I came out, wait for my uncle to pick me up, and now I'm at his home, waiting for dinner with my aunt. Time now is 3.20 PM Friday Oct 30, singapore will be 6.20 AM Saturday Oct 31. Happy halloween (lots of the officer said that during landing) happy birthday Kiyoko & Marina.

Weather is SUNNY, but cold enough ( I'm not hot tempered body person) for me to add layers inside :)

Going to SF tmrw 7 AM in the morning ! Wish me luck, free of jet lag, and meet many more good looking ppl around !! hohoho :)

No photos for now. Houses in LA are short & flat, I can see a clear blue sky here :) My uncles home are really like american home (he rented a room). I love the home :)

scarred ? erm...actually with all the warning my frens, aunties & fellow kind ppl gave me, I'm quite alarmed on the possibility of aloooottt of things that might happen :P

so... yah : anyone reading this, pls pray that I'll come back sound & save, in full two piece (count my luggage as very important part of me), lack nothing * and gain nothing additional on my body pleaseee pleaseeeee peh-leeaassseee*

as said: it has been an AMAZING YEAR :) I never thot, dream, and foresee that such a great year will come along in my 28th year :)

One fine night before musicals, I accidentally open the resolution paper written last year in one of our FA session. I slipped this paper inside another resolution card that's made for YRC Sunday new year services.

The paper that I wrote in FA reads this :
Passion for life
and all it's circumstances, the ups, the down,
A reason to live, a mission to walk, purpose to fill and dreams coming true
A growth that's not stagnant

Reading that paper just way before musical : I never knew when I wrote those words, that every single line is going to be fulfilled in a project called : Nasi Boengkoes.

I didn't even know why I wrote those words then, when I just finish writing them. Almost throw this small piece of paper many time :P Funny how it was written, opened, and re-read on the right time again. Just when I'm in my highest moment of preparing for Naboeng :)

It shows God never forget, and He knows what He's doing in our life, even when we don't. It reminds me on Pst Kong's word: Wibi's MSN Nick : When we can't see God's hand, we better trust His heart :)

And now that I opened the resolution paper of 2009: only 2 lines stated, very big & clear :
1> Save the money
2> Shed the KG
& u noe wad ? Fulfilled again !!!! hauheauehauheuhau :)

Not that I complete all resolution. I still have not finish reading bible though I'm like 3/8 way through it. I have not gotten my Singapore driving license. Well, driving license can wait. But let's fnish bible :)


So now before I leave for 3 weeks of experiencing a new land called USA; I thank God for such a great year, and every single person who has coloured them as beautiful as Rainbow after storm :)

Amazing that we've known each other since 07, but only manage to know each other better in mid 2008, and best : this year.

Got to thank Ricky who's so persistent in introducing me to this girl, who everyone says : really look like me. Ricky bilang, bukan cuman muka, even personality wise.

But having someone said that you really look like this person, when u see that person finally : pasti deh, first reaction: mirip dari Hongkong ? *emang Ricky sekolah Hongkong*. At first I felt, there isn't any major resemblance other than kita putih, size agak di atas rata2 wanita Asia pd umumnya. sama2 orang Indo, and that's it.

Belon lg: she's attached, I'm not! Nah loh mirip mananya coba ? Palagi personality ? *I don't know her in the first place* Even more shocking when I find out: wah dia dancers jg ? What does she feel yah ? Does she feel inferior like me ? we being quite big ? *thank God she did not feel inferior and continue dancing *

But coming to this year, let's just say: I have to agree with Ricky, that even personality wise: we really are, alike! Face wise: don need to proof that: pictures don lie. Photoshop does. hehe :P

We loveeeeee dance (off course no doubt she MUCH better dancers than I am), we do many wedding plannings, we work great as wedding planner partners in Singapore, I know my area, she know hers, combined : we pain Stars in the sky *cah... puitiss....jijay*

and apparrently: she knows my sis ( we come from same high school), my sis' boyfriend, my neighbour, and she lives around my area: TAMAN RATU !! haha:p ....coincidence ? perhaps

whatever u name it, fate, takdir, nasib, yuan fen, jalan hidup, I see 75% of me in her, and I'm glad to say that I'm happy to see myself :P HAHA :p *ngaco yah analoginya*

kayak felem2, dimana 2 orang ketemu setelah gede, and see him/ herself in another person, yg sampe tampang aja mirip. I find our story, beneran kayak pelem2.

In conclusion: I don't want to miss any chance working together with El, creating magic. If u're reading this El * jangan nangis ho.... ahoehaohoah* thank you for never giving up on my dance, and never giving up on my negative attitude that always says: ga bisa. Thank you for making dancing seems so effortless and ...it actually is : do-able, as long as one have a passionate & patient teacher like u :) Thank you, for being a SUPER GREAT Partner in Naboeng :) *uwah...berkaca kaca*

This, is one friendship and teamwork, that I surely treasure with HEART & SOUL :)


2> need I say ? DIAN :)
We have been: a FAMILY long long time ago :) Garink family :) Serangoon family :) Blessed Family :) NUS family :) ELG family :) adoh...banyak yah ?

But I've never been so close to her as much as I have this year. I have no regrets moving here to Serangoon, and....those few dayz where she just moved to Buangkok are my MOST MISSERABLE DAYS this year, if not coz of musicals, it would have been dreadful !!!

Sedih rasanya, missing her footsteps in my room, her knock on the door, and her exciting jump to my quilt :) our gossiping session, you tubing session, checking internet session :) Going church in the morning felt so good to have a company :) and need I say ? walking home together are as warm as sun rays in midnite *napa gua jadi puitis gini*

Now that I'm quite adjusted with her move to Buangkok, I'm always reminded that I have a friend who I can ask for dinner when I feel like having one :) Andai Fenny masih ada di SG, it would be great too:) hoah : I miss garink family (padahal br dinner senin kemaren)

Well the pt is : my friendship with Dian has been proven through time record: 9 years & counting and I'm glad that it gets stronger, instead of weaker :) senangggggggggggg nya :)


3> a very prominent figure, who irritates me ALOT, but what I have for him is this word:
r.e.s.p.e.c.t : respect

Respect for a fine young man with big dreams (mostly unrational), yet really doing unrational things to make this unrational dream come true.

David Suwarto. A man who has been sending me home with his BMW, who's always lost when finding his car, who always force my ears to hear "gross" things that got me goosebumps everytime he's on the phone with Vina..
